Information We Process
Depending on the feature you use, JapanGo may process text, conversation content, voice recordings, and photos that you choose to provide.
Conversation history, saved travel cards, language preferences, and app settings may be stored locally on your device.
AI Services
JapanGo connects directly to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, including DashScope and Qwen, to provide translation, speech recognition, photo understanding, and travel assistance.
Text, audio, photos, and related instructions may be sent directly from your device to Alibaba Cloud. JapanGo does not operate a separate server for these AI requests.
Device Permissions
JapanGo may request camera access for reading menus and signs, microphone access for voice translation, and photo access when you select an image or save a travel card.
You can deny or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Storage and Deletion
Locally stored conversations and travel cards remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall JapanGo.
Alibaba Cloud may retain service-related information according to its policies, security requirements, and legal obligations.
Advertising and Tracking
JapanGo does not sell personal information, display third-party advertising, or track users across other apps and websites.
Security and AI Accuracy
Online requests use encrypted connections, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
AI translations may contain errors. Avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information and confirm important medical, legal, safety, allergy, or financial information with a qualified person.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when JapanGo’s features, service providers, or data practices change. The latest version will always be published on this page.
